            As you probably already know, the Earth isn't all that big of a place; and with a population of 6,000,000,000+ people, this planet

is rapidly becoming overcrowded. The only reasonable solution to this overlooked epidemic is to move to the nearest hospitable planet;

Mars. Though Mars isn't entirely ready for humans to colonize the it yet, we have plans to terraform the planet. This means that we

have plans to turn Mars into a planet that can be colonized by humans. This will involve decades, or even centuries of research, but in

the end, it will most definatley be worth it. But what does this have to do with Deinococcus Radiodurans? As you must already know,

Deinococcus Radiodurans has a unique ability to withstand the harmful effects of radiation. After extensive research, scientists have

discovered that Deinococcus Radiodurans could be altered to act as a sort of protection from the Martian environment. For example,

cultivating Deinococcus Radiodurans into Martian soil would prevent the soil to be nearly as damaging to valuable space equipment as

it currently is. We are also looking into the option of genetically reengineering the bacteria into drugs that can be taken to protect a

human from harmful radiation. Even today, D. Radiodurans is being used to clean up atomic "mishaps".
